Counselors heading to high school after student shot
LAWRENCE, Mass. (AP) — Counselors will be available to students and staff at Lawrence High School struggling with news that a freshman girl at the school was shot in the head late last week.
The Eagle-Tribune reports that school Principal Michael Fiato told parents to "stay in close communication" with their children as they process the news and contact a health care provider if needed.
Police say a 16-year-old girl was shot in a car driven by a 20-year-old man at about 9 p.m. Friday. Police say the girl may have been going to confront another girl.
Police are searching for the boyfriend of the mother of the other girl.
