[Men's Basketball] Mechanics Fall in Second Day of Williamson Classic
Try as they did, with just six healthy players, Williamson was no match for NHTI, as they fell to the Lynx by a score of 98-73 in the second day of the 2019 Williamson Winter Classic.
Williamson trailed by 11 at half before running out of steam midway through the second half. A big difference in the game was the fact NHTI thot 56% from three point range int eh second half, while shooting an astounding 45 percent for the game, going 18-40 from beyond the arc. Williamson, on the other hand, went just 6-32 from three-point range.
Williamson was led in scoring by Vontangoe Donzo (FR/Darby, PA), who had 26 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots. Senior David Derby (SR/Pitman, NJ) chipped in with a double-double, in just his third collegiate start. He had 13 points, 11 rebounds and also contributed four assists.
For his efforts over the two days, Vontango Donzo was named All-Tournament team.
The Mechanics are now off until next Saturday, when the take on SUNY ESF on the road,
