Gas prices down another nickel per gallon in Massachusetts

0

BOSTON (AP) — The average price of a gallon of gasoline in Massachusetts has plunged by another nickel, but motorists may have seen an end to dropping prices.

AAA Northeast reports Monday that its weekly survey found self-serve, regular selling for an average of $2.44 per gallon, 7 cents lower than it was a year ago.

The Massachusetts price, however, remains 20 cents higher than the national average.

A AAA spokeswoman says the price of crude oil has been slowly increasing this year, but the impact at the pump has yet to be felt by Bay State motorists.

AAA found a wide range of prices, with gas selling for as low as $2.19 per gallon to as high as $3.05.
