Boeing's newest design for a passenger jet is definitely odd-looking, but the company claims that the aircraft's unusual appearance will bring significant improvements in performance.

The aircraft, which currently exists only as a design concept, has a name that only an engineer could invent (or love): the Transonic Truss-Braced Wing (TTBW).
