Siena basketball's Don Carey waits and works for next season

Carey, who is 6-foot-5 and 187 pounds, is practicing with the Saints while he sits out the season under NCAA transfer rules.

Carey explained why he wanted to play for Christian again at Siena.

"He just brings the best out of you,'' Carey said. "His leadership abilities. He believes in you and gives you confidence and just allows his players to play. He trusts and believes in me."

The Saints are counting on Carey, who averaged 9 points and 3.4 assists as a freshman, to be a significant part of the program's future.

"He's one of the most talented players on our team,'' freshman guard Georges Darwiche said. "He's going to be a big factor next year. I'm looking forward (to) it."
