Police: Toddler, 2 other people killed in Louisiana crash
GOLDEN MEADOW, La. (AP) — Louisiana State Police say three people have died in a crash.
Authorities tell news outlets the Monday crash in Lafourche Parish claimed the lives of 37-year-old Michael Barthelemy, 2-year-old Trisha Barthelemy, and 17-year-old Zackary Cheramie.
State police say Michael Barthelemy overcorrected to the left and entered the Bayou Lafourche. The driver and his two passengers were unable to exit the vehicle. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Michael Barthelemy and Trisha Barthelemy were properly restrained. A state police news release says Cheramie was not restrained during the crash. It says impairment is an unknown factor in the crash.
