Pac-12 moving football title game out of Levi’s Stadium

The Pac-12’s marquee football game will be played in a new venue in 2020.

The conference and the 49ers have announced that the Pac-12 championship game will be no longer be played at Levi’s Stadium after this year. The title game has been played at Levi’s since 2014.

The conference and 49ers issued a joint statement in which they said it was agreed their partnership could end early.

“The Pac-12 Conference and Levi’s Stadium have agreed to opt out of the final year (2020) of the agreement to hold the Pac-12 Championship Game at the venue. At the time the partnership was announced both parties agreed to leave open the option for the Conference to explore other new venues that would become available throughout the region.
