Kyler Murray decision: A’s crossing fingers
The A’s are playing the waiting game with Kyler Murray, who hasn’t said whether he’ll report to spring training.
“He’s an incredible young man and would be a great asset to the A’s,” general manager David Forst said Friday. “We made it clear to Kyler how much we’d like to have him here and how great a baseball player he could be.”
Murray declared for the NFL draft after winning the Heisman Trophy and leading Oklahoma to the college football semifinals, but he could still opt to play baseball. The A’s picked Murray, an outfielder, ninth overall in the June draft.
