Stanford women use big third quarter to beat Coloardo
Alanna Smith scored 26 points and No. 6 Stanford rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to beat host Colorado 80-69 on Friday night.
The Cardinal (17-1, 7-0 Pac-12) shot just 26 percent in the first half but got their offense going after the break as they hit five 3-pointers in a 32-point third period.
“I think that third quarter — it was fun, it was fun to play in,” Smith said. “It’s great to come back and win games but most of the time I don’t want to come back. I want to blow teams away.”
Alexis Robinson scored 25 points to lead Colorado (10-8, 0-7), which had only eight players available because of injuries.
“I thought Colorado played very hard,” Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer said.
