Suspect arrested in deadly hit-and-run crash
SPANAWAY, Wash. (AP) — An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a deadly hit-and-run crash last month in Spanaway.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Office says the man was arrested at about 7:30 a.m. Friday.
KOMO reports it's believed that the suspect was driving the car that struck and killed the victim, 40-year-old Ariel Vazquez Lopez, as he was walking.
The car took off, leaving Lopez for dead.
During the crash investigation, deputies found a white passenger side mirror at the scene of the crash that came from a 1997 to 2001 Toyota Camry.
After arresting the suspect, investigators found a white Toyota Camry with a missing passenger side mirror parked in the garage of the home.
