SF Giants losing a familiar face from pregame and postgame shows

Ahmed Fareed, who has hosted the Giants pregame and postgame shows during his six years with NBC Sports Bay Area, is going national.

The network announced Monday that Fareed will join NBC Sports and NBC Sports network as a host and reporter. The job begins March 1, and Fareed will relocate to the East Coast.

Kelli Johnson, who hosted the now-canceled “Happy Hour” program on NBC Sports Bay Area, will replace Fareed as anchor of the Giants pregame and postgame shows.

Fareed, who came to the Bay Area from the MLB Network, went on loan to the national NBC networks during the 2016 Summer Olympics and 2018 winter games.
