Giants’ Jeff Samardzija offers advice to NFL-bound Kyler Murray

Kyler Murray surprised the A’s Monday morning, announcing he would enter the NFL draft and return the $4.6 million bonus he received from Oakland when they drafted him in baseball’s first round last June.

The Heisman Trophy winner from Oklahoma University said, via Twitter: “Football has been my love and passion my entire life.”

Now, we’ll see if it can also be a career.

That remains to be seen, as there haven’t been many 5-foot-10 quarterbacks starring on football’s biggest stage. Doug Flutie was listed at the same height, and we know how it turned out for him. Some folks are saying Murray might not even measure up that tall. We’ll find out at the NFL Combine.
