Minot woman sentenced to 10 years for fatal shooting in 2017
MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A Minot woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting and killing a man more than a year ago.
Thirty-nine-year-old Kommika Gregory last October was convicted of manslaughter in the November 2017 death of 58-year-old Ronald Thompson at a Minot apartment. Authorities said Thompson tried to intervene in a dispute between Gregory and her ex-boyfriend. Gregory argued self-defense.
She was sentenced Friday, and given credit for more than a year already spent in prison. She'll be required to serve at least 85 percent of her sentence before being eligible for parole.
