The Latest: Suspect in Utah shooting had drug history

OREM, Utah (AP) — The Latest on a shooting near Utah Valley University (all times local):12:25 p.m.

The at-large suspect in a fatal shooting at an apartment complex near Utah Valley University has a history of drug-related offenses.

Online state court records show that 19-year-old Elbert Paule was charged three times in the last year. He pleaded guilty in one case and served jail time and pleaded not guilty in another.

Orem Police Lt. Trent Colledge said Friday that Paule is considered the suspect because witnesses at the apartment complex saw him shoot a man Thursday night. Police aren't yet identifying the man who died.

Colledge says Paule and the man knew each other.
