UAlbany lacrosse goalie excited for Cornell matchup
Now it's Siekierski's turn to face the third-ranked Big Red in Ithaca on Saturday afternoon. He'll face a dynamic Cornell offense that features junior Jeff Teat, a first-team All-American.
Teat, who leads the Big Red with 10 goals, is joined on the attack by senior Clarke Petterson (eight goals) and sophomore John Piatelli (seven goals). They've combined for 25 of Cornell's 33 total goals in wins over Hobart and Lehigh.
"That's one of the best offenses in the game,'' Siekierski said. "We're actually kind of excited for the matchup. We know what we have to do and we know it's not going to be easy, but we're motivated and we're ready to go. We're all dedicated to doing the right thing."
Siekierski has played well in his first two starts for the Great Danes (1-1), who rebounded from a season-opening loss at Syracuse to edge Drexel 13-12 in Philadelphia last week.
