Report: Oft-injured CB Verrett to visit 49ers
Chargers cornerback Jason Verrett, a Fairfield native whose NFL career has included a Pro Bowl berth and a slew of leg injuries, will pay the 49ers a free-agent visit on Wednesday, the NFL Network reported.
Verrett, a 2014 first-round pick, has played in just five games the past three season due to two surgeries on his left knee and a torn Achilles. He’s played in just 25 of 64 games in his career, but was a Pro Bowl selection in 2015, the only season in which he played more than six games.
Last year, Verrett tore his Achilles during a conditioning test before the start of training camp. He last played in an NFL game on Sept. 11, 2017.
