Authorities arrest suspect with history at hair salons

STATESVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Authorities in North Carolina have arrested a man with a criminal history which involves hair salons.

Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell says in a statement that 49-year-old Phillip Todd Stroud of Harmony is charged with felony breaking and entering and felony larceny after breaking and entering in connection with two separate incidents at a hair salon.

Campbell said deputies noticed a vehicle and a broken window at the salon on Thursday, then found Stroud inside.

Stroud is jailed on a $5,000 bond. It's not known if he has an attorney.

The sheriff said Stroud was convicted on charges stemming from an incident at a hair salon in Dave County. Campbell said he used a knife to rob someone at a hair salon in April 2010 and threatened to kill them.
