Buster Posey as Giants’ official captain might be a fitting, rare gesture

San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey is coming off hip surgery. The only manager he has had in the majors, Bruce Bochy, is retiring after the season. And the Giants are transitioning under Farhan Zaidi with new philosophies and personnel. Maybe it’s time to appoint Posey team captain.
