Black Editor Resigns Just Weeks After Replacing Pro-KKK Editor of Alabama Paper
A black woman who took over as editor-in-chief of a local Alabama newspaper after her predecessor published an editorial praising the Ku Klux Klan has herself resigned from the position, the New York Times reported on Friday.
Elecia R. Dexter had only served in the position at the Democrat-Reporter for a few weeks before stepping down and after interference from the paper’s ex-editor-in-chief Goodloe Sutton, according to the NYT.
