White Sox Finally Promote Their Hottest Prospect
Luis Robert was embarrassing everyone at High A-Ball, so the White Sox finally decided to promote the center fielder to Double-A Birmingham.
Following a frustrating year in 2018, when Robert was limited to only 50 games because of two thumb injuries, he came into 2019 destroying everything. After going 4-for-5 on Monday night with Winston-Salem, hitting a home run and a triple, Robert raised his OPS to. 1.432.
In 19 games in the Carolina League, Robert slashed 453/.512/.920, in 75 at-bats.
That was his eighth home run of the season. He ends his time at Single-A in 2019, with 34 hits, 16 extra base hits, 24 RBIs and 8 HRs.
Now, he’s up to Double-A and if he keeps hitting he could be in Charlotte by the middle of summer.
The White Sox also promoted two other prospects.
So, Zack Burdi joins Robert in Double-A and outfielder Steele Walker is up to High A-Ball.
