Higher education chief to speak at Delgado
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Louisiana's commissioner of higher education will speak at spring graduation ceremonies for Delgado Community College in New Orleans.
Kim Hunter Reed is a Lake Charles native who has served in a variety of roles in state and federal government. She will be the commencement speaker during ceremonies set for 10 a.m. May 21.
Reed was named commissioner of higher education last year after serving as director of Colorado's Department of Higher Education. She has been a deputy undersecretary at the U.S. Department of Education. And she has served various roles in Louisiana government.
Delgado Community College provides accredited, industry-approved instruction for a variety of careers. It offers courses online and at seven locations in the New Orleans region. Commencement ceremonies will be held at the UNO Lakefront Arena.
