New Bears RB Mike Davis Went All Out for Mother’s Day
The Chicago Bears made Mike Davis a happy man back in March when they signed him to a two-year deal worth $6 million. Now that may not sound like a lot of money compared to other NFL contracts, but it’s plenty for somebody who understands what it’s like to come from poor conditions. Davis is one of many who has experienced that life.
He’s also one who made a solemn vow growing up. He was going to make something of himself. When that happened, he was going to reward the woman who battled through the hard times to make sure her son got an education and an opportunity to have success in life. In this case, David decided to make Mother’s Day of 2019 one to remember.
He showcased the event on Twitter, revealing to his beloved Mom that she had a new house to call her own.
While most people get their mothers a card, some flowers, or take them out to a nice meal, Davis went to a level few will ever touch. He made sure to show his gratitude, remembering where he came from and the sacrifices that woman made to ensure he ended up somewhere he could be happy. The least he could do was bring her along for the ride when finally able.
Davis ran for 514 yards and four touchdowns last season for the Seattle Seahawks. The former 4th round pick is expected to contribute to a completely revamped backfield for the Bears offense alongside David Montgomery and Kerrith Whyte. No doubt his mother will be cheering like crazy watching TV in her house.
