U.S. women’s soccer team starts slowly, but beats South Africa 3-0
The U.S. women’s national team’s cohesion came into sharper focus with each passing minute of its friendly against South Africa at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday, and by game’s end, it had a 3-0 win. It was a positive result for the Americans’ first game after coach Jill Ellis finalized the 23-member roster ahead of next month’s World Cup in France.
