New publisher named for Scottsbluff newspaper
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (AP) — A new publisher has been named for the Scottsbluff Star-Herald in the Nebraska Panhandle.
BH Media Group Vice President Shon Barenklau says a Texas executive, Rich Macke, also will be publisher of the Gering Courier and Hemingford Ledger, starting Monday.
Macke has been publisher of the Port Arthur News, a six-day-a-week paper on Texas' Gulf Coast. Macke replaces Roger Tollefson, who died March 6 at his home in Gering.
The Star-Herald reports that Macke began his career in California, has experience in several newspaper departments and also has worked in Oklahoma.
