Authorities release name of fatally injured bicyclist
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a man who died after his bicycle was struck by a vehicle just north of Council Bluffs.
The Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Office identified the man Monday as 55-year-old William Shepard, who lived in Council Bluffs.
The sheriff's office says a vehicle has been seized as evidence from someone who contacted the sheriff's office with information after the crash. No arrest or charges have been reported.
Deputies found Shepard early Saturday morning with serious injuries, and he was pronounced dead later at a hospital. The vehicle that had struck him had left the area.
