BOSTON (AP) _ Eaton Vance Corp. (EV) on Tuesday reported fiscal second-quarter earnings of $101.8 million.

The Boston-based company said it had profit of 89 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 76 cents per share.

The investment manager posted revenue of $411.9 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $405.7 million.

Eaton Vance shares have climbed 6% since the beginning of the year. The stock has dropped 35% in the last 12 months.
