Union men's lacrosse coach retires
Wehrum went 138-74 over 13 seasons with the Dutchmen. He won more than 500 games including a 24-year stretch at Herkimer County Community College, where he was 403-62 and captured eight NJCAA national championships.
"The 13 years spent at Union have been some of the greatest years of my life," Wehrum said in a news release. "My daughter (Lyndsay) went here, my godson went here and it's been a great run, but it's time. I want to enjoy my years of healthy living with my wife and we are going to enjoy it together. It was a family decision, not just mine."
Wehrum's final game at Union was a 10-9 loss to RIT in the third round of the NCAA Division III tournament on May 11.
