Cheeky cat removes towels from shelves so it can take a seat

This 10-year-old cat threw its owners towels onto the bathroom floor - so it could get comfy and take a seat on a shelf. The Siamese mixed-breed cat, named Bacardi by its owner, makes itself comfy in the bathroom at home in Leipzig, Germany, with one towel to lie on while the rest are on the floor. The cat's owner commented: "Bacardi follows me in almost every room. There Bacardi is searching for some stupid thing to do."

EU says social media now better at removing hate speech

BRUSSELS (AP) — The European Union says major social media firms have stepped up their efforts to remove hate speech online. EU Justice Commissioner Vera Jourova said that the 2016 code of conduct "works well," with companies like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter reacting within 24 hours in an average 89 percent of the cases pointed out to them. Rupee slumps 55 paise to 71.80/USD on strong dollar, firm crude

The rupee on Monday dropped by 55 paise to close at 71.80 to the US dollar, the lowest level since December 17, ahead of the Reserve Bank of India's policy review meet. This is the second straight session of loss for the domestic unit, during which it lost a total 72 paise. Forex traders said foreign fund outflows and a stronger dollar following blockbuster US employment and factory data impacted the rupee sentiment. Criticised by Union Minister Arun Jaitley for his "dissent" note on appointment of CBI Director, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge has written to the BJP leader that the objections raised by him were on the flouting of procedure and not on the integrity of the officer. In a letter to Jaitley after his blog --"Has Mr. Kharge Brought Down the Value of Dissent?", the Congress leader in Lok Sabha demanded that the government put in public domain the minutes of the meeting of the panel headed by the prime minister on the CBI Director's appointment.
