Man sentenced to prison for child rape

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts man who acknowledged repeatedly raping a child has been sentenced to prison. The Republican reports that 49-year-old Steve Trybus, of Pittsfield, was sentenced to up to five years in state prison Tuesday. He pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including indecent assault and battery, rape and abuse of a child and intimidation of a witness. Authorities say Trybus sexually assaulted the child multiple times between 2005 and 2008. He was arrested in April 2017.

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Vermont education officials say voters across the state are generally supporting local school budgets this year. Vermont Public Radio reports that so far this year, 96 school districts have put their fiscal year 2020 budget proposals before voters, but as of Wednesday, only three were rejected. Seventeen districts have yet to vote.
