BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — Police have released the name of the man killed in a daytime shooting in Bridgeport earlier this week. Authorities say 34-year-old Jerrell Gatewood, of Bridgeport, was struck once in the torso around 9:40 a.m. Tuesday. He was transported to Bridgeport Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Gatewood had survived a 2013 shooting where he was struck in the chest. Police Chief Armando Perez says investigators are looking into the 2013 shooting as part of Gatewood's homicide investigation. RENO, Nev. (AP) — Officials say this winter is the eighth largest in the Truckee River Basin since 1981, largely due to a February that was full of snowfall. The Reno Gazette-Journal reports so much snow fell on the surface of Lake Tahoe last month that the waterline rose by about a foot (0.3 meters). Reno Chief Deputy Water Master Dave Wathen says that's 39 billion gallons (147.63 billion liters) of water (in the form of snow) that fell directly into the lake.
