The Jawaharlal Nehru University Friday rubbished the claims of its students' union of a 300 per cent hike in prospectus fee, saying the fee remains the same as last year. The students' union had protested on Thursday and said the varsity had increased the prospectus fee by 300 per cent, closed down BA lateral entry programme in School of Languages, and de-linked MPhil-PhD programme which was an integrated programme. The Special Task Force (STF) of Crime Branch of Odisha Police Friday seized four leopard skin and arrested seven persons allegedly involved in smuggling of banned items, a police officer said. A team of STF acting on tip-off raided a lodge at Kuchinda in Sambalpur district where seven people were planning to sale the leopard skin. The arrested persons were identified as Sanjay Bagh, Sunil Kallu, Dusraj Patel, Jhulaketan Naik and Kailash Majhi of Laikara in Jharsuguda and Minaketan Mundu and Kumad Bara of Mahulpulli in Sambalpur. An Indian-origin man was injured in the Christchurch terror attacks, his relatives residing in Hyderabad said Friday. At least 49 worshippers were killed in attacks on the Al Noor Mosque in central Christchurch and the Linwood Mosque in the city's outer suburb, in what appeared to be the worst attack on Muslims in a western country. India's Dipa Karmakar Friday failed to make it to the balanced beam finals as she finished a lowly 20th in the qualifying round of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup here. The 25-year-old Dipa could only score 10.633 in her balanced beam routine to end at 20th among 25 competitors. She also got penalty points.
