LS polls: 20.93 per cent voter turnout till 11 am in MP

An average 20.93 per cent voter turnout was recorded till 11 am in eight Lok Sabha seats of Madhya Pradesh where polling was underway on Sunday. Voting was underway since 7 am in a peaceful manner in Bhopal, Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Guna, Sagar, Vidisha and Rajgarh constituencies in the third phase of elections in the state, state Chief Electoral Officer V L Kantha Rao said. South Africa will use a two-day informal WTO Ministers' meeting in New Delhi starting Monday to push for recognising the necessity of policy space for developing countries, especially African countries, to pursue their development objectives, a senior minister said. The meeting will be attended by six least developed countries and 16 developing countries, including China, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Nigeria. Average spot power price to be less than Rs 3.5/unit in May

Average spot power price is unlikely to breach the Rs 3.50 per unit level in May on account of sufficient coal stock for thermal plants and enhanced supplies from clean energy sources, according to experts. "Despite higher peak demand of 178 GW, average spot power prices at exchanges would not be more than Rs 3.5 per unit during May because of better supplies particularly from clean energy sources like wind, solar and hydro.
