Estonia, Niger, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Tunisia and Vietnam were Friday elected as non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for a two year term beginning January 1, 2020. The 193-member UN General Assembly held elections for five non-permanent members of the Security Council in the iconic General Assembly hall. Newly-wed man hospitalised after attack by wife's relatives

: A 25-year-old newly-wed man was inflicted knife injuries allegedly by his wife's relatives here, as they did not approve of their love marriage, police said Friday. The relatives of the couple, who had tied the knot Wednesday, had met at the police station hours before the attack to sort out differences, the police said. Over 2.58 lakh students register on DU's website for admissions till now

Over 2.58 lakh students registered on the Delhi University's website for admission to undergraduate courses till Friday, the varsity said. The university started registrations on May 30 for undergraduate courses and the admission process will end on June 14. The first cut-off list is likely to be released on June 20, second on June 25 and the third to be released on June 29. The fourth and fifth cut-off lists will be out on July 4 and July 9 respectively. Till now, 2,58,296 students have registered and 1,51,722 made payments, the varsity said. Читать дальше...

Iran on Friday rejected an idea mooted by France of re-opening nuclear talks, warning that seeking to broaden an existing landmark treaty could lead to its collapse. President Emmanuel Macron said Thursday that his goal of "regional peace" would require new negotiations, adding that Paris aimed to rein in Iran's nuclear and ballistics activities and its regional influence.
