4 killed in sand mine collapse in MP's Shivpuri

Four persons, including two children, were Monday killed when an illegal sand mine collapsed in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district, police said. The mine was along the banks of Parvati River in Maroura Khalsa village in Pohri area, Bairad police station in charge Alok Singh Bhadoria said. "The victims went to the mine to dig sand for their home. It caved in and all died instantly. The deceased are related to each other," he said. They were identified as Sudama Goswami (22), Shriniwas (20), Nitesh (10) and Kishan Goswami (14), he said.

Rajasthan will implement Centre's health insurance scheme jointly with the state's

The Rajasthan government has decided to implement the Centre's flagship health insurance scheme, Ayushman Bharat, by integrating it with the state's own Bhamashah insurance scheme. State Health Minister Raghu Sharma Tuesday said the Centre's scheme will be implemented in integration with the state's Bhamashah insurance scheme. Ayushman Bharat provides for cashless medical treatment worth up to Rs 5 lakh to the beneficiary families per year. Sharma said the amalgamation of the two schemes has been completed. Rajasthan BJP chief dies at 75

Rajasthan BJP president Madan Lal Saini died on Monday while undergoing treatment at AIIMS in Delhi, a party spokesperson said. Saini, also a Rajya Sabha MP, was 75. He was shifted to Delhi two days back owing to his deteriorating health conditions. Earlier, he was admitted at a private hospital in Jaipur due to infection in lungs. Ebola death toll breaks 1,500 mark in DRC

More than 1,500 people have died in a nearly 10-month-old outbreak of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the health ministry said Monday. As of Sunday, 1,506 people have died out of 2,239 recorded cases, it said. Earlier this month, the virus claimed two lives in neighbouring Uganda among a family who had travelled to the DRC.
