Benchmark indices rally on easing trade war worries

Indian stock market Monday rallied in line with global equities as investors globally heaved a sigh of relief after the US and China called a truce in their long-drawn trade tussle. Maha CM launches drive to plant 33 cr saplings from Chandrapur

Rape accused held after 3 years in J-K's Reasi

A man, wanted in a three-year-old rape case, has been arrested in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, police said Monday. The accused, V P Singh, was Sunday arrested from his village, Bhomag in Reasi, they said. Singh had been evading arrest since 2016 after an FIR was registered against him, police said.



Eight core sectors grow by 5.1 pc in May

The eight core sector industries recorded a growth of 5.1 per cent in May on the back of healthy output in steel and electricity. A total of over 6.8 lakh companies have been closed across India till date, the Lok Sabha was told on Monday. The number of closed companies account for 36.07 per cent of the total 18,94,146 companies that are registered under Registrar of Companies.
