14 die in rain-related incidents in Rajasthan, J'khand; north India receives monsoon rains

Fourteen people, including a minor, were killed in rain-related incidents in Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh, while the Assam floods claimed one more life on Thursday. Indian sentenced to over 21 years for child pornography

A 30-year-old Indian national has been sentenced to 21 years and 10 months in prison for producing child pornography. Divesh Valanju had pleaded guilty on April 11 this year. According to court documents, Valanju met an 11-year old child via two online messaging apps. He lied about his name on the apps and exchanged sexually-explicit images with the child. A 45-year-old gym owner was shot at by an unidentified man in north Delhi's Civil Lines area on Thursday, police said. The injured, Rahul Gupta, a resident of Naveen Shahdara, runs a gym in partnership with his brother-in-law. He is also a distributor of a washing powder, the police said.
