Senators Urge Pompeo to Warn US Travelers of Chinese Surveillance

FCC votes to ban caller ID spoofing in text messages, international calls

WASHINGTON – The Federal Communications Commission is working to crack down on scam artists. On Thursday, the Federal Communications Commission voted to implement rules to ban malicious caller ID spoofing of text messages and international calls. FCC Chairman Ajit Pai originally proposed the rules in July following a bipartisan statement from more than 42 attorneys general. “Scammers often robocall us from overseas, and when they do, they typically spoof their numbers to try and trick consumers,” said Chairman Pai. Chemours stock falls after company's Q2 miss, lowered outlook

Chemours Co. shares fell more than 5% in the extended session Thursday after the chemical company spun off Dupont reported second-quarter results that missed expectations and lowered its outlook for the year, pinning it on its quarterly performance and "increasing macroeconomic uncertainty."
