(Some spoilers ahead for season 2 of Netflix’s “Mindhunter”)

The first season of “Mindhunter” on Netflix featured a creative decision that would a little bit confusing if you aren’t the sort of person who knows a lot about serial killers: the inclusion of brief scenes in each episode depicting a strange man in Kansas doing strange things.
