Anurag Katriar takes over as president of NRAI

The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) on Friday announced the appointment of deGustibus Hospitality Executive Director and CEO Anurag Katriar as its new president. The appointment was made unanimously at the annual general meeting of the association after tenure of The Beer Caf founder and CEO Rahul Singh's tenure as the president came to an end, NRAI said in a statement. Tenure of special judge trying Babri Masjid demolition case extended: UP to SC

The Uttar Pradesh government Friday told the Supreme Court that it has complied with its direction and extended the tenure of a special judge who is conducting trial in the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition case involving BJP veterans L K Advani, M M Joshi and Uma Bharti. Special judge Surendra Kumar Yadav, who is conducting the trial in Lucknow, was set to retire on September 30. Ukraine leader says Russia sanctions must remain in place

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday warned the West against lifting sanctions on Russia as France pushes for rapprochement with Moscow. But speaking on the sidelines of an annual forum in the capital Kiev, the 41-year-old leader told AFP that he had a "feeling" that Russian President Vladimir Putin was ready to improve ties with Ukraine. The existence of a four-decade-old law that makes the Uttar Pradesh government pay the income tax of all ministers has come as shocker to many, even though some political leaders say they never knew about it.
