Man ends life by jumping from fifth floor of hotel

A 51-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of a hotel at Vapi town in Valsad district of Gujarat on Wednesday, police said. The incident was recorded by some onlookers who were standing on the road. The deceased has been identified as Piyush Pacchigar, a resident of Surat, police said. Gabi Haw of Westmont (Calif.) was chosen as the NAIA Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. The two student-athletes were nominated for their performances during the week of Sept. 16 - 22 and were selected out of a pool of conference and Association of Independent Institutions award winners.
