Clashes as Hong Kong marks five years since 'Umbrella' protests

Renewed clashes broke out in Hong Kong Saturday night as police used water cannon and tear gas to disperse hardcore protesters hurling Molotovs and bricks after tens of thousands rallied peacefully in a nearby park. Huge crowds had gathered to mark the fifth anniversary of the "Umbrella Movement", the failed pro-democracy campaign that laid the groundwork for the massive protests currently engulfing the finance hub. Grey Line: Dwarka-Najafgarh corridor likely to open early next week

The over 4.2 km-long Grey Line of the Delhi Metro, which will connect urban village area of Najafgarh to the rapid transit network, is likely to open early next week, officials said on Saturday. The Dwarka-Najafgarh corridor consists of three stations - Dwarka (interchange with Blue Line), Nangli and Najafgarh. With the opening of this section, the Delhi Metro network will expand to 377 km with 274 stations, including the Noida -Greater Noida Aqua Line, Executive Director, Corporate Communication of the DMRC Anuj Dayal said. Cop seeks bribe for not beating robbery accused in lock-up;

A police constable from Dahod district of Gujarat was arrested on Saturday for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 39,500 for not assaulting two cousins in a lock up, an ACB official said.
