Russia Man Says Sorry For Unacceptable Wedding Tears

A Russian man has been forced to publicly apologise to his region's leader and citizens for his "unacceptable" crying at his sister's wedding. The apology was made after a video of the unnamed citizen shedding a tear at his sister's wedding in the south-western Russian republic of Chechen was uploaded to social media. Africa could be home to 90% of the world's poor by 2030 as governments across the continent have little fiscal space to invest in poverty-reduction programs and economic growth remains sluggish, the World Bank said.That's up from 55% in 2015 and it will happen unless drastic action is taken, the lender said in its biannual Africa Pulse report released Wednesday, in which it also cut growth forecasts for the region's key economies.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday announced that his country's military had launched its planned operations in northern Syria against U.S.-allied Kurdish-led militia. "The Turkish Armed Forces, together with the Syrian National Army, just launched #OperationPeaceSpring against PKK/YPG and [ISIS] terrorists in northern Syria," Erdogan tweeted, referring to the Syrian Kurds and to the Islamic State.
