Rare 'super-Neptune' exoplanet found orbiting nearby star

Astronomers using telescopes from around the world have discovered an exoplanet more massive than Neptune, orbiting a star cooler than the Sun at an orbital radius similar to that of the Earth. European asset managers care more about climate change: study

European asset managers are more likely to seek to hold companies to account over global warming than their US counterparts, British-based pressure group ShareAction revealed Monday. ShareAction, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that campaigns for responsible and sustainable finance, examined votes cast by investors in 57 of the world's biggest asset management companies on proposals related to climate change. The group studied various proposals including climate reporting and governance, corporate lobbying and emissions reduction targets.

Pak court grants bail to Maryam Nawaz in money laundering case

A Pakistani court on Monday granted bail to Maryam Nawaz, the daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, in a money laundering case. A two-member bench of the Lahore High Court headed by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi granted Maryam bail in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case of money laundering. The court had reserved the verdict in the case on October 31. Maryam had filed her bail application in the case on "merits and humanitarian grounds".
