1.5 lakh Ayushman Bharat Health & Wellness Centres to be set up by 2022: Survey

To promote preventive healthcare, 1.5 lakh Ayushman Bharat Health & Wellness Centres are proposed to be set up by 2022, according to the Economic Survey 2019-20. The Survey was tabled in Parliament on Friday by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. A total of 28,005 such centres have already been set up as on January 14, 2020, it added. "Under Mission Indradhanush, 3.39 crore children and 87.18 lakh pregnant women in 680 districts across the country have been vaccinated," the Survey noted. The government is working with "full force" to rid India of terrorism and security forces have been given a free hand in taking the "strongest" measures possible to deal with the menace, President Ram Nath Kovind said on Friday, sending a clear message to Pakistan to contain cross-border terrorism. In an address at a joint sitting of both houses of Parliament, the president touched on key foreign policy and military related issues and asserted that the world will witness an inclusive, prosperous, capable and powerful "New India" in this decade.

Bank of India shares climb nearly 4 pc on Q3 net profit

Shares of Bank of India on Friday rose by nearly 4 per cent after the company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 138.20 crore for December quarter 2019-20. The scrip rose 3.79 per cent to close at Rs 68.55 on the BSE. During the trade, it jumped 4.31 per cent to Rs 68.90. At the NSE, it climbed 3.93 per cent to close at Rs 68.70. Honeywell profit rises above expectations, while sales fell short

Honeywell International Inc. reported Friday a fourth-quarter adjusted profit that topped expectations while sales fell a bit shy. The aerospace and industrial company's stock was little changed in premarket trading. Net income declined to $1.59 billion, or $2.16 a share, from $1.74 billion, or $2.31 a share, in the year-ago period. UK evacuation plane leaves Wuhan with 110 people on board

A plane chartered by Britain to evacuate its citizens and other foreign nationals on Friday departed the Chinese city at the epicentre of a deadly virus outbreak with 110 people aboard. State-owned ITI on Friday extended the issue period for its ongoing follow-on public offer (FPO) by four working days till February 5 following lukewarm response from investors. This is the second time the company has extended its issue period. Prior to this, the company, on January 28, extended the issue period for its FPO by three days till January 31.
