MCSWEENEY’S

The following is an excerpt from Slouchers, originally published in 1993 to coincide with the film of the same name, and now being republished by longtime McSweeney’s contributor Mike Sacks’ press Sunshine Beam Publishing. Archdaily.com

The house was built from scratch on the degraded space of a vehicle workshop. A new building appears behind a really massive, powerful wall that is more than a meter thick, guarding the memories of successive occupations and that now plays the role facing onto the street. The wall provides ancestral tranquility for the patio house, a common design in the surrounding area because of the long Moorish occupation.

Jalopnik.com

In what I can confidently promise will be the heaviest metal sentence you’ll read this morning, the European Space Agency is kicking off a plan to grab space junk with orbiting metal claws as a way to tidy up the skies.
