Teen hospitalized after rescued from Seattle lake
SEATTLE (AP) — Authorities say a 14-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was rescued from a Seattle lake.
KING-TV reports the teen was swimming in Lake Washington off Magnuson Park when he went under the water Monday afternoon.
Witnesses say the teen was pulled to a floating dock where an off-duty firefighter, a nurse and a doctor performed CPR.
The fire department and a police boat responded and took the boy to the hospital.
Harborview Medical Center officials say the teen is in critical condition.
Seattle Fire Capt. Shata Stephenson says it's unclear what caused the teen's emergency.
The beach at Magnuson Park was closed to swimmers after E. coli was detected.
