Siena basketball player still quiet with NBA deadline drawing near

Siena men's basketball fans waited for word on Tuesday that Pickett is definitely returning, while the program hosted a recruiting visit from Gary Harris Jr., a prospect from Los Angeles who is attracting high-major Division I offers.

Pickett has until Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. to withdraw from the NBA draft and retain his college eligibility. While it's been expected all along he'll return to the Saints for his sophomore season, there was still no confirmation of that.

Siena head coach Carmen Maciariello texted there was "nothing official yet," while a Saints spokesman said he hadn't heard anything from Pickett.

Dave Briski, who coached Pickett at SPIRE Institute in Ohio, said he hasn't spoken with Pickett but believes he's "likely" to return to Siena.
