2 San Francisco pedestrians struck by driver in stolen SUV
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Police say a woman in a stolen SUV hit two pedestrians — leaving one with life-threatening injuries — and also struck several cars during a wild chase through San Francisco neighborhoods.
The San Francisco Chronicle says the Kia SUV drove onto a sidewalk and struck a pedestrian Thursday afternoon near the Tenderloin police station.
Video from the scene shows a dozen officers swarming the vehicle, which reverses and hits another pedestrian before smashing into a parked car and speeding away.
Police say the Kia sped through several intersections and hit several cars before police caught up with it in the South of Market neighborhood.
The woman was arrested. Her name wasn't immediately released.
The newspaper says both pedestrians were hospitalized and one had life-threatening injuries.
