The Bokaro Steel Plant will install an Integrated Waste Management Disposal Plant and a Sewage Treatment Plant this year. The St. Petersburg Sewage Treatment Plant will be based on the Namami Gange Model in which waste water discharged from sewage will be treated and reused for steelmaking in the plant. The facility will have the capacity to treat 30 million gallon water per day generated from the township. This will reduce the dependency of the Bokaro Steel Plant on Tenughat Dam.
