The Indian government may extend the cut-off date for the waiver of inter-state transmission system charges for renewable energy to green hydrogen and green ammonia projects until December 2030, according to proposals from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. This would make more projects eligible for the incentive and improve economic viability. Almost 65-70% of the production cost of these fuels comes from renewable energy, but the costs of transmission to manufacturing hubs can increase production costs.
